Júlia Porta’s work is based on a sensual relationship with memory: from the desire of preserving an image and, at the same time, from the impossibility of retaining it completely. in between fluidity and detail, light, color, and texture, she works with raw materials that go through the images, dissolve them and make them reappear, suspended in between the sharpness of a fragment and the ambiguity that surrounds it, preserving the intimacy in the vulnerability of that which never ends up fixed. From this tension the care and delicacy in her paintings arise: between the experience and memory, nostalgia abstracts, slowly, an image.
